             Five Web sites from The Wall Street Journal's
      Online Network - RealEstateJournal.com, StartupJournal.com,
               CollegeJournal.com, CareerJournal.com and
         OpinionJournal.com - receive awards in annual contest

The Wall Street Journal Online at WSJ.com, the largest paid subscription news site on the Web with 671,000 paid subscribers worldwide, today announced that it was awarded Best Newspaper Web site in the 2003 WebAward Competition. Five Web sites from The Wall Street Journal's Online Network, published by Dow Jones & Company, were also honored in the competition.

RealEstateJournal.com, The Wall Street Journal's Guide to Property, was named Outstanding Web site in the Real Estate category. RealEstateJournal.com is the Internet's premier site for people seeking real estate guidance for both commercial and residential properties.

Four other Web sites from The Wall Street Journal's Online Network received Standard of Excellence Web site designations. They are:

-- StartupJournal.com - The Wall Street Journal's center for

entrepreneurs seeking guidance on starting or buying a

business or franchise in the Small Business Category.

-- CollegeJournal.com - The Wall Street Journal's free site for

career-minded college students in the Education category.

-- CareerJournal.com - The Wall Street Journal's executive career

site in the Employment Category. CareerJournal.com features

more than 30,000 top-level jobs and 2,500 articles on all

aspects of job hunting and career management.

-- OpinionJournal.com - The free Web site from The Wall Street

Journal's editorial page in the Advocacy Category.

The WebAward Competition for Web site excellence, now in its seventh year, judges Web site development against an ever-increasing Internet standard and against peer sites within the industry. Entries were ranked based on design, navigation, innovation and usefulness to target audience.

The WebAward Competition is produced by the Web Marketing Association, an independent volunteer organization founded with the purpose of setting a high standard for Internet marketing and site development on the World Wide Web.
