Brazil to get broadband satellite Internet.(Brief Article)

South American satellite network operator Star One is joining leading Brazilian Internet Service Provider (ISP) Universo Online (UOL) and Israel-based Gilat Satellite Networks's Starband Latin America unit to introduce consumer-focused broadband satellite Internet offering in Brazil. Starband Latin America will supply satellite equipment, Star One will be network operator, while UOL will be main distribution channel for the service and the Internet content provider. Service should begin by the third quarter of 2001.
