Discovery Kids to Provide Broadband Content

Reinforcing its commitment to making the Internet a fun, safe, learning tool for kids, Road Runner, in conjunction with leading family and children's programmers, has created a rich, multi-media environment for its "Kid Stuff" channel. The company today announced that Nickelodeon and the Children's Television Workshop will develop original broadband programming which will entertain and educate Road Runner kids. This content will complement Road Runner's new broadband offerings from JuniorNet and Discovery Kids, as well as existing youth content from Time Warner's entertainment destination, Entertaindom, and MaMaMedia.

"By establishing this impressive line-up of category leaders and innovators, Road Runner has demonstrated our commitment to providing children and families with leading-edge, quality online entertainment and educational programming," said Karl Rogers, Road Runner vice president of programming. Added Rebecca Paoletti, director of programming for Road Runner, "we are thrilled about partnering with kids programming veterans like Nickelodeon and the Children's Television Workshop and look forward to exploring with them the unlimited potential for delighting children in a broadband environment."

Nickelodeon is the premier content provider for the kids' channel, developing exclusive, all broadband programming for Road Runner children. Already known for setting new standards in children's entertainment programming both online and on cable television, Nickelodeon now brings its innovative talent to Road Runner's cable online service with a cutting-edge broadband content area. Designed to maximize broadband capabilities, the content features interactive games, polls, and activities enhanced by animation, music and video.

"Road Runner's Kids Channel is a great place online for Nickelodeon's kid-first style of entertainment," said Taran Swan, senior vice-president, Nickelodeon Online. "We will continue to create fun and innovative experiences for kids, everywhere they want us to be, from radio and print, to TV and the Internet."

Another key partner for the channel is the Children's Television Workshop (www.sesamestreet.com), the original ground-breaking family programming site. Dedicated to multicultural kids' programming, the Children's Television Workshop provides games, activities, and educational content for parents and their children, complete with the beloved Sesame Street characters, all enhanced for broadband.
