Installation of High-Speed Internet Service
Now Even Easier and More Efficient
BroadJump, Inc., the leader in software solutions for intelligent deployment of broadband services,
With the initial deployment of BroadJump's Virtual Truck, MediaOne already has experienced up to a 25 percent decrease in the time required to perform an installation while streamlining the process for the customer. Such efficiency is increasingly important as MediaOne's high-speed Internet customer base -- now more than 300,000 -- continues to grow.
BroadJump's Virtual Truck automatically configures customers' computers for broadband Internet access by qualifying the subscriber's computer, configuring the operating system, performing connectivity tests, and providing reporting features that substantially reduce the time and expense to install a new broadband subscriber. By using a software solution to automate many of the tasks a field technician would normally perform, Virtual Truck reduces the time needed for a MediaOne technician to configure the customer's computer to get them online and running with ease.
"In order to meet our aggressive expansion plans, we realized we needed to make the broadband installation process as fast and simple as possible," said Tom Cullen, vice president of MediaOne Internet Services. "BroadJump's Virtual Truck allows us to increase the number of installations we can complete in a day by reducing the time required for installation. In addition, as the application is more widely deployed, we expect to see a decrease in the number of calls our customer service representatives receive on a daily basis."
"Virtual Truck makes the installation of broadband service easier and more efficient than ever before. It requires less time on the part of the installer, while providing customers their high-speed Internet service quickly and easily," said Kip McClanahan, BroadJump's president and chief executive officer. "BroadJump has given forward-looking service providers like MediaOne the tools to enable a simple and positive installation experience for their customers."
Virtual Truck is the industry's first tool enabling service providers to streamline technician installations. Deployed in thousands of residential broadband installations today, Virtual Truck allows providers to accelerate service deployment, create a more positive installation experience and build stronger customer relationships.
