Non-telcos allowed into VOIP market, BUSINESS TIMES

THE Energy, Communications and Multimedia Ministry has announced that it
will allow non-telcos (officially known as non-network-based companies)
into the Voice over Internet Protocol (VOIP) market, provided they apply
for an Applications Service Individual License.

Informed of the decision, the existing service providers said they are
waiting to see if this license will come with the same obligations they
are subjected to, such as network roll-out or contributions to the Universal
Service Provisio
