Comdial Expands NetworkingCapabilities.

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 25, 1999--

Comdial Corporation (Nasdaq: CMDL) announced today that its latest software release features expanded networking capability for the DXP, DXP Plus and FX platforms. The software will make its debut at this week's CTI Expo - Spring 99

show in Washington, D.C. In response to requests from end-users', Comdial expanded its networking capability to support up to thirty-five hundred end-users stations. Additionally, the newest software includes one centralized Windows NT-based voice mail, which operates across the entire network.

Networking allows communications system resource consolidation including savings on long distance costs, as well as centralized system administration and maintenance. The payback period is reduced to nearly zero from the money saved on multiple attendants.

William G. Mustain, President and CEO of Comdial Corp., commented, "This is another example of the Company's solutions-focused strategy of serving businesses with multiple locations. Networking allows geographically diverse companies to operate seamlessly and transparently, even if its offices are located across the country. Companies such as banks, real estate offices, financial services, medical centers and municipalities will reap the benefits from this product."
