NETCOOL Applications Will Monitor Cellular Voice and Data Services of
U.K.-Based Digital Mobile Phone Operator
Micromuse Inc. (Nasdaq:MUSE), the leading provider of fault and service-level management software, today announced that One 2 One, a leading digital mobile phone operator in the United Kingdom, has selected the Netcool(R) suite for realtime fault management and service assurance of its wireless voice and data infrastructure.
Netcool applications will provide realtime monitoring of Wireless Application Protocol (WAP)-based switches and other wireless environments across One 2 One's digital mobile phone services. One 2 One has already deployed the Netcool suite in its SOC (Service Operations Center), where it is monitoring wireless networking equipment from a variety of vendors including Cisco, Ericsson, Nortel, and Phone.com.

The Netcool suite collects management data from more than 150 management environments and network devices, including voice, data and Internet. Fault data is rapidly processed and filtered by the Netcool ObjectServer(TM), an in-memory database. The Netcool application allows operators to build views of service availability in realtime, helping them manage networks more efficiently. Because it is scalable and deploys rapidly, the Netcool business model allows service providers to expand their networks as their markets grow.
