VON 2000
MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 28, 2000
AudioTalk Networks Inc., a leading provider of Voice over Internet technology will be demonstrating a Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) standard compliant Web phone client and SIP/H.323 compliant MCU (Multipoint Conference Unit) at VON this week in San Jose, Calif.
SIP is an emerging IETF standard that specifies call signaling and transport for Internet Telephony and is gaining support amongst manufactures of VoIP solutions. The AudioTalk PC phone client and MCU are compatible with SIP and H.323 compliant VoIP gateways, clients and conferencing bridges.
PC based SIP Calls can be terminated to other PCs or to standard PSTN (Public Switched Telephone Network) telephones.
Highlights of the SIP client include:
-- Full Duplex Audio
-- Automatic Microphone Gain Control
-- Automatic Browser Installation
-- Support for PC to Phone and Phone to PC calls
-- Low Bandwidth High Quality G.723 Codec
-- Firewall Friendly Features
AudioTalk's lightweight SIP client transforms any PC into an intelligent IP telephony endpoint. The ease of distribution of a software SIP phone versus hardware will accelerate the availability of these solutions in the market.
"The lightweight SIP client and standards based conference bridge expand the opportunities for IP telephony solutions to beyond making cheap long distance calls," said Frank Chu, president of AudioTalk. "Click-to-talk customer support, business conferencing, and distance education are a few of the markets that are already benefiting from the AudioTalk technology."
AudioTalk's standards based solutions are available today. For a live demonstration of the technology and services visit us in Booth 330 at VON or at www.audiotalk.com.
