Beta Testing in 36 Countries Confirms Infinite Mobile Delivery Server

Provides Useful Access to Data and Messaging

Captaris, Inc., (Nasdaq: CAPA), a leading provider of unified communications

and mobile business solutions, today announced availability of Infinite Mobile Delivery Server, which provides secure access to business data and applications as well as messaging and calendar functions from a variety of wireless devices.

"Our release of the Infinite server is on schedule and has been met by true excitement from industry opinion leaders and beta testers," said David Anastasi, president and CEO of Captaris. "The enthusiastic reaction confirms user needs identified by our market research."

Infinite Mobile Delivery Server, recently awarded "Best of Show" at Networld+Interop in the Network Applications Software category, extends the corporate desktop by making traditional applications and information accessible to mobile professionals via wireless, Internet-enabled mobile phones and devices.

The product is available now on a per seat basis. Pricing for the base Infinite server and the Infinite Connector for Microsoft Exchange is approximately $95 per seat for organizations with 100 users.

Infinite Mobile Delivery Server was successfully beta tested in 36 countries on six continents. Dean Maire, vice president of strategy and business development at Imagecom, a Vector ESP company, said testing of the Infinite server created "a buzz around the office unlike other products we've tested." The company is a top Captaris sales partner.

Imagecom implemented mobile access to email and its customer database within one day. "The implications for customer use are enormous," said Maire. "It opens the door for new solutions to meet today's information delivery needs that traditional infrastructures don't provide."

Maire pointed to a function available via Infinite as a favorite among his team: specifically, the ability to look-up a contact within the database, obtain the phone number and then simply click the number for automatic dialing.

"After seeing the capabilities of Infinite within our organization," Maire commented, "some employees who didn't previously own Internet-enabled phones are looking into purchasing them."

Need for remote connectivity is also recognized by David Klein, president of Instant InfoSystems, a leading Captaris reseller and recognized market expert on computer telephony solutions in Torrance, Calif. "More than ever, customers demand real-time or immediate response from the companies they do business with," he explained.

From Instant InfoSystems' beta testing experience, Klein listed ease of configuration as a top feature of the Infinite server. He has already seen anticipation from some of Instant InfoSystems' Fortune 1000 customers. "Infinite offers the type of technology critical to our clients," he commented. "The server can be configured to suit a company's database architecture without requiring C++ or Visual Basic development."

Infinite Mobile Delivery Server provides the following functionality:

-- Extends the reach of corporate email and groupware systems, allowing users
to access email, voicemail, faxes, personal calendars, task lists and contact
databases from Internet-enabled mobile phones and wireless PDAs (personal
digital assistants).

-- Extends the range of valuable databases and productivity tools by wirelessly
enabling mission critical applications including CRM (customer relationship
management), ERP (enterprise resource planning) and others.

-- Incorporates a voice component which, in addition to reading and responding
to email messages in text, allows users to listen to email messages using
text-to-speech conversion and respond to email messages with a voice message.
