10Best Inc.'s "Virtual Concierge" allows wireless carriers to offer their subscribers personalized city guides when they need them the most -- on the go. The service directs users to the nearest -- and best -- restaurants, nightclubs, shops, museums, and other businesses in 224 cities worldwide.
Compaq, Portal Software and PacketVideo have combined to demonstrate a location-based, m-commerce, multimedia application to allow mobile consumers to determine the movies playing within a certain distance of their location, view show times, watch movie previews, and purchase tickets, all in real time, all with a few clicks on a Compaq iPAQ(TM) personal device.
FlyOver(TM) will utilize its breakthrough (patented pending) Visual Map(TM) streaming technology over narrowband wired or wireless communication to replace maps with real imagery for location-based services, allowing simulated 3D realistic maneuvers over the image combined with relevant real-time on-demand information, for traffic report, E-911, real estate and more, for all handheld devices, Car PCs, and GPS navigation systems.
GlobalDining is a robust, global restaurant directory searchable by cuisine type, proximity, types of payment accepted and other useful criteria, available via the Internet or wireless Internet, where location and navigation, provided by local.info Alliance member Maptuit, are streamlined into the application to make finding the right restaurant simple and useful.
Valis' cellmaZe is the first cellular teen channel. cellmaZe is the most advanced cellular community tool targeted at ages 12-25. Through cellmaZe's integration with SignalSoft's local.info application, it enables the location of consenting groups of friends to stay in touch, find each other's locations, share information anytime anywhere and most importantly -- have fun together.
