NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 6, 2002
Fine Point Technologies, Inc., developers of pre-qualification, deployment and sign-up software for service providers and telecommunications companies, today announced a series of new customer wins, illustrating
These new customers, representing North America, South America, Europe and Asia, position the company for increased growth and penetration.
Among Fine Point's new customers is Verizon (NYSE: VZ), which will utilize the WinPoET broadband PPPoE connection software for deploying and managing new DSL subscriptions. With WinPoET, Verizon can better serve its subscribers by offering an intuitive graphic user interface for self-installation and ongoing Internet service administration. WinPoET (MacPoET for Macintosh(TM)) speeds service providers to market through rapid subscriber deployment while reducing the company's customer support costs.
CenturyTel, Inc. (NYSE: CTL), the eighth largest local exchange telephone company, based on access lines, has added Fine Point's CyberTRUCK Self Repair Technician and My Information Manager (a custom-built application) to their technology offerings. As local demand for high speed Internet access continues to grow, a solution such as CyberTRUCK enables providers to reduce `truck roll' costs and provide a rapid response for troubleshooting needs. Through new service and content offerings, Internet service providers such as CenturyTel can improve customer response rates and lower subscriber churn rates.
Fine Point Technologies Europe, Ltd., has added France-Telecom (NYSE: FTE) owned Cable Wannado. After testing a variety of provisioning software solutions, the company selected Fine Point's solutions for their superior performance versus other providers. Cable Wannado officially deployed WinPoET as their broadband connection management solution for nearly 15,000 subscribers, a number which is expected to grow substantially as the European broadband market continues to climb.
HeliNet, a cable-based ISP will utilize WinPoET for their diverse user base. The company is located in central Germany, and the network consists of Hamm, Lunen, Soest, Ahlen, Kamen, Bonen, Bergkamen, Werne and Werl, strategically positioning Fine Point at the core of the European market.
Ella Kommunikasjon AS, a Swedish company, has chosen the ServPoET and WinPoET solutions to deliver broadband access to companies in their fiber-network, and is also using Fine Point's technology to deploy PPPoE for their customers with direct access to the Internet.
WinPoET has also been used by Japan's DoCoMo AOL, (NYSE: DCM). The product has been adapted and localized, and appears entirely in Japanese for the end user. Fine Point's ability to translate into a country's respective language demonstrates the intelligence of the software, ultimately enhancing the company's international appeal, and revealing its global attraction to a wide range of service providers.
Telefonica S.A.'s (NYSE: TEF) utilization of CyberTRUCK and WinPoET software for use in Brazil, Chile, Argentina and Peru, for broadband self-installation, diagnostics and self-repair makes PPPoE and Fine Point Technologies the standard across South America.
Motorola (NYSE: MOT) purchased the ServPoET Broadband Management System, which supports all broadband technology and enables reliable provisioning of high-speed Internet services for testing purposes.
"The company's technologies deliver customers advanced provisioning solutions which simultaneously cut costs, boost retention rates and enable new reoccurring revenue streams," said John O'Keefe, CEO of Fine Point Technologies. "We are pleased to have added such a far-reaching array of customers to our client base; these alliances illustrate Fine Point's capabilities in all broadband markets, from DSL to Cable, from Argentina to Japan, and beyond. By satisfying all of the subscribers' needs, we help our customers win in the marketplace. Delivering on a promise to reduce churn and generate revenue aids us in gaining momentum in both national and international markets."
