ORLAND PARK, Ill.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 28, 2003

-- Andrew extends sales leadership in all segments of

the cellular market and in GSM-compatible Location Systems --

Andrew Corporation (NASDAQ:ANDW), today announced that Corr Wireless Communications,

LLC. has signed an agreement to purchase an Andrew Geometrix(R) E911 wireless caller location system. The Geometrix system will be installed in Corr's network to provide public safety agencies with accurate caller location information on cellular calls to 911. Andrew is the only vendor with location systems in commercial service covering all cellular technologies in use in the United States. Geometrix recently became the first and only caller location system in the world to meet the FCC's location accuracy requirements in commercial service for GSM networks.

The Geometrix system provided under the contract will be compatible with all of Corr's digital and analog wireless network technologies (GSM, TDMA, and AMPS) and customer handsets. According to Bryan Corr, CEO of Corr Wireless, "Because the Andrew system will place the location technology completely in Corr's network, Corr will not have to replace or modify its customers' handsets. Corr customers will benefit immediately when the system is installed and will not have to purchase expensive new handsets in order to be located in emergency situations."

The Geometrix location system has been selected by more carriers than any competing system and has been installed in nearly 10,000 cellular and PCS base station sites. Uniquely among vendors of 911 location systems, Geometrix systems have been successfully implemented with both large and small carriers in urban and rural environments. The system for Corr will help the company meet new Federal Communications Commission Phase II E911 wireless caller location regulations. The system determines the position of 911 callers and automatically forwards the caller location information to public safety agencies that receive 911 calls. In addition to wireless 911, Geometrix can provide accurate caller location support for Location Based Services (LBS) that carriers may offer in the future.

Geometrix systems have been in commercial service since October 2001, and in small and rural carrier networks for more than a year. Andrew's Geometrix system is the only system of its type to have been installed by smaller wireless carriers. Terry Garner, President of the Andrew Network Solutions Group, said, "Andrew is most gratified to have been chosen by Corr Wireless. The Corr contract further affirms the Andrew commitment to all carriers, large and small, and those carriers' recognition of this commitment."

The Geometrix location system will allow Corr to provide locations of wireless 911 callers to emergency response centers, called Public Safety Answering Points (PSAP), that are equipped to receive such information. Corr customers and roamers will be able to continue using their existing handsets and current 911 calling procedures. To maintain caller privacy, Geometrix systems are designed to provide location information only when a caller initiates a 911 call. Geometrix systems are scalable for both large and small applications, are suited to both urban and rural operations, and have been deployed in 33 states.

Geometrix was formerly built and marketed by the Grayson Wireless division of Allen Telecom Inc. Andrew Corporation purchased Allen Telecom on July 15, 2003, at which time Geometrix became an Andrew product within the company's Network Solutions business unit. Geometrix continues to expand its overall leadership in 911 caller location systems sales to cellular carriers in all segments of the wireless market. The Andrew Geometrix system received recognition for its effective efforts to provide a 911 caller location solution for all segments of the wireless market, including regional carriers such as Corr Wireless Communications, LLC. Andrew has contracts with multiple national, regional, and local carriers and is the only provider to have contracts and in-service location systems with all wireless carrier segments.

Andrew Corporation (www.geometrix911.com) designs, builds, and markets the Geometrix system, a state-of-the-art, scalable, cost-effective,

network overlay solution intended to allow carriers to meet the FCC's stringent Phase II requirements for wireless E911 caller location. Geometrix was the first Phase II-compliant wireless location system to be placed into commercial service and is the market leader in network-based location systems. Geometrix works with the CDMA, GSM, TDMA, AMPS, 1xRTT, and iDEN wireless technologies and is compatible with all cellular and PCS phones in use in the United States.
