MIAMI -- Movida Communications, Inc., the nation's first pay-as-you-go wireless communications service specifically targeting the more than 40 million Hispanics living in the United States, is sponsoring the Miss Carnaval Miami pageant tomorrow evening in Miami when the first Miss Movida will be crowned.

The new beauty queen will then reign for one year as Movida's special representative to the US-Hispanic community. Miss Carnaval Miami is one of the oldest televised Hispanic pageants in the United States. Carnaval Miami is the largest global showcase in the US-Hispanic market with a festival that attracts people from the local community and around the world.

Commenting on the appointment Movida Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Enrique Garcia said: "We are privileged to be able to support the Miami area - Movida's home - in their world-famous annual festival. We are also proud to be part of the Miami community and to serve the broader US-Hispanic market throughout the year." Through this sponsorship Movida has become part of the Miss Carnaval Sponsorship program which began in 1988 and is helping young women reach their goals of higher education.

Movida - majority-owned by the Cisneros Group (www.cisneros.com) -- has teamed with Sprint (NYSE:FON) and Wal-Mart (NYSE:WMT) to begin providing wireless voice and data communications using the Sprint nationwide wireless network, with rate plans that cater to the needs of the U.S. Hispanic market. Through its arrangement with Wal-Mart, and other regional sales outlets, Movida is rolling out Movida's state of the art wireless phones in select U.S. markets.
