Subscribers to Softbank Internet-Protocol Phone Service Tops 3 Million.

Oct. 7--TOKYO--The number of subscribers to the Softbank Corp. group's Internet protocol-based (IP) phone service topped 3 million as of last Friday, Softbank said Tuesday.

The Softbank group launched the low-cost IP phone service, called BB Phone, in April last year. The service is operated jointly by Softbank BB Corp. and Yahoo Japan Corp.
