LETTER TO THE EDITOR ; Independence day

By Stowers, Paul
Publication: AdMedia
Date: Tuesday, November 1 2005

Dear Ed:

I couldn't help but laugh at the supposed "independence" of AdMedia in relation to last month's article on the local magazine industry.

Could it be a coincidence that in the same article where Profile Publishing's Keith Stewart talks about the new hospitality industry magazine

Grill, AdMedia - also published by Profile Publishing - decides to drop all details on FoodService magazine from the accompanying circulation lists?

For the record, FoodService is a monthly business-to-business magazine with an audited circulation of 8360 which earlier this year won a Qantas Media Award for its editorial graphics.

I also think that the new editor of Grill might want to actually read the existing industry publications available to the restaurant, cafe and catering sector before making any more silly comments on their quality.

The FoodService omission from that chart was pure coincidence, Paul - for space reasons, we published only titles we deemed to be of significant interest to ad agencies. On reflection, FoodService should have been included. - Ed
