New survey from PSINet reveals security holes in UK, France and Germany.

CORPORATE IT UPDATE-(C)1995-2001 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD

A recently completed survey by Internet and IT solutions provider PSINet Europe BV shows that IT directors in the UK are more likely to have measures in place to ensure secure access to information for remote workers.

When questioned a third of all respondents in the UK claimed to have no special measures in place to ensure safe access for remote workers to e-mail, files and records. This compared to just a quarter of German and French companies.

Other results from the survey indicated that finance and utilities companies were the most likely to take precautions for remote workers with only 20% claiming not to have anything in place.

The survey took into account the replies from 1,000 IT directors in the UK, France and Germany.
