Greek ad expenditures see small increase.

Advertising expenditures in Greek media increased by only 0.31 per cent in January to reach a total of E104.2m., according to a Media Services survey.

The highest increase was for the magazine

sector, with 5.66 per cent compared to January 2001, while radio advertising had the biggest drop of 31.11 per cent.

Magazines had also the largest share of the total expenditures with 44.27 per cent and E46.1m. Television extracted 36.93 per cent of the total expenditure and E38m ? a drop of 2.17 per cent from the same time last year.

Newspapers had a growth of 1.07 per cent and a share of 15.7 per cent, representing E16.6m. Radio managed to secure just E3.2m and saw its share of the advertising market to fall to 3.11 per cent. ((Distributed via M2 Communications Ltd - http://www.m2.com))
