WILTON, Conn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 12, 1996--Cognizant Corporation, which is expected to be spun off from The Dun & Bradstreet Corporation in October, today announced that Joseph C. Allen has been named vice president - communications. He will report to Victoria R. Fash, Cognizant's executive vice

Allen, 47, was previously director, communications for Chicago-based Borg-Warner Security Corporation, which spun off Borg-Warner Automotive, Inc. and completed initial public offerings of both companies in 1993. He joined Borg-Warner in 1984 as director, communications of its security services unit, where he was responsible for internal and external communications.
From 1974 to 1984, Allen managed communications activities for Zapata Corporation, where he rose to the position of director, corporate relations. He holds a B.A. degree from the University of Northern Iowa and a M.A. degree in journalism from the University of Missouri.
In January, Dun & Bradstreet announced a plan to transform D&B into three publicly traded companies.
