* Last November, Miller True Value in Waverly, Iowa, launched its Rewards Program allowing customers to gather dollars for points. They now have nearly 200 customers participating and for every $300 the customer spends, they receive a $10 gift certificate.

The program has been well received, but owners George and Colleen Miller wanted to do more. During last year's Christmas season, the Millers gave customers the choice of gathering points in a personal account or instead, donating them to a local school of their choice through the "Reward Your Schools Program."
