MCHENRY, Ill. -- Follett Digital Resources, the premier provider of digital solutions for publishers and educators to help meet the needs of 21st century learners, today announced
The "Out-of-the-Box Breakfast" is a new annual event created to highlight an emerging topic or development that has the potential to significantly impact the educational publishing industry. The inaugural session will be held Thursday morning, June 5th, and will focus on the recent Congress on the Future of Content. Follett Digital Resources' support of the Out-of-the-Box Breakfast is in addition to its ongoing commitment to AEP as an annual gold-level sponsor of AEP's activities.
This year's AEP Summit - entitled "Publishing for the Digital Future" - will be held at Washington's J.W. Marriott Hotel, and features both an educational conference and the Digital University Exhibit Hall. The annual event attracts publishing service providers and publishers who create, develop, market and sell some of the best known educational brands.
The Summit's mission is to educate publishers on how to better harness the latest technologies to get their content to readers, viewers and listeners, whenever and however they want it. It also showcases effective business models for publishers, provides marketing and branding ideas in a Web 2.0 world and presents effective ways content can be delivered across multiple platforms.
"This is a bellwether period in educational publishing," says AEP's CEO, Charlene F. Gaynor. "As a leader in the digital publishing revolution, Follett Digital Resources is the perfect partner to host the inaugural Out-of-the-Box Breakfast, which will set the stage for a practical and thought-provoking Summit."
During the event, Follett Digital Resources' Chief Operating Officer Michael Johnson will be available in the Digital University exhibit hall to discuss a landmark 2008 study called 2020Vision now being completed by his organization. The research highlights and analyzes the opinions of publishers, educators and students about the role and future of digital content in education.
