University of Connecticut Chooses Dramatic Design for New School of Fine Arts.

Jun. 10--STORRS, Conn.--Frank Gehry's dramatically irregular building with curving metal roofs has been selected as the design for the University of Connecticut's new School of Fine Arts.

Gehry, based in Santa Monica, Calif., and his partner in the project, Herbert S. Newman of New Haven, won a competition sponsored by the university that attracted 55 architects.

Gehry is best known for designing the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao in Spain.
