HOLLYWOOD -- The Art Directors Guild has established a new awards category for excellence in production design for commercials.

Guild plans to announce five nominees for commercials on Jan. 13. Winner will be announced Feb. 12 at ceremonies at the Beverly Hilton Hotel along with winners in five categories of film and television.

To be eligible, a commercial must be 30-120 seconds in length and be designed and supervised by a production designer or art director. Paid commercials, public service announcements and
