Dissatisfaction With Banner Ads Is On the Rise.(Industry Trend or Event)

Forrester Research estimates that though banners are the most frequently used tools to enhance Web traffic they seem to be the least effective. The bulk of the $2 billion that has been spent on Internet advertising during 1998 has gone into banners. One problem with banners is that there are too many of them and Web users are inundated with them. Coupled with this is the fact that computer users do not have the same attention span as magazine readers and TV viewers. Solutions include improving the technology and adding humor and color to make banners more pleasant to look at.
