Forges Strategic Relationship with The 360 Group
To Create Email, Direct Mail and Telemarketing Campaigns
Chairman and CEO Lee Barba of INVESTools Inc., (OTCBB:INVS.OB), the market
Barba reported that the Company's success in selling additional products and services to its existing customers in a bare-bones program, which was initiated less than a year ago, has been so compelling that the Board approved the investment.
Barba noted that the Company expects to earn back its investment in the next six months, if not sooner. "In the second and third quarters of this year, 46% of our revenue came from sales of additional products and services to students attending workshops and to database prospects as part of our lifetime value of the customer strategy," he said.
"The revenue from renewals alone in the second and third quarters of 2003 were 63% greater than the revenue from renewals in the same periods in 2002. We believe with multiple simultaneous sophisticated campaigns we can build on this success," he added.
"Most importantly," Barba added, "this investment will make possible more rapid growth in revenue from these activities next year at significantly better margins. Our experience has proven that sales to these prospects are made at significantly lower marketing costs, even after this investment, than the costs of acquiring new customers."
The $1.5 million will be spent in a three-pronged effort:
-- The formation of a strategic relationship with The 360 Group
of San Rafael, CA, which will dedicate a team of six experts
to create, at the start, at least 15 different campaigns to
market INVESTools' investor education products and services;
-- The refinement and upgrading of the Company's database of
700,000 prospects. The new database will be able to segment
prospects according to their history, identify the best
potential targets for each of the Company's growing arsenal of
products and services as well as test and evaluate campaign
effectiveness; and
-- The purchase of software that will make possible the
computerized matching of products and services with the
appropriate prospects as well as the appropriate marketing
media.
