"Over the past several years, we've seen a rapid surge in the volume of advertising spent behind insurance: auto, medical, property/casualty and life, the whole gamut, to the point where, from 2003, total [advertising dollars] spent on insurance has nearly doubled," Swallen reports in the interview. "In 2006 it was a $3.2 billion advertising marketplace, and it's on track in 2007 to exceed that level as well."
