Jan. 19--RITZ-CARLTON OPENS WITH A SPLASH: The much-delayed Ritz-Carlton in Miami Beach finally cut the ribbon last Wednesday with a synchronized-swimming display that recalled the days of Esther Williams. The opening capped a five-year, $200-million renovation at the former DiLido hotel, designed by Morris Lapidus in 1953.
