BRISBANE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 8, 2000

Spurred by non-stop advertising sales page growth in 1999, Maximum PC magazine is arming its advertising sales staff with two new hires and a promotion from within the advertising sales group.

"Growth is our main focus in 2000," said Chris Coelho, publisher of Maximum PC. "These hires and promotions will help us achieve the results."

New hires include Melissa Russell as the Western Advertising Director. "Based out of Los Angeles, Melissa owns technology advertising in Southern California thanks to years of experience working for USA Today, Ziff-Davis (helped launch PC Computing) and CMP Media (Windows magazine and the Business Technology Group). As far as I'm concerned Melissa is very talented and we know she will be a key asset in helping drive Maximum PC to the next level," states Coelho.

Nancy Romano, the new North West Regional Sales manager, will cover the Silicon Valley, the midwest, northwestern United States, and eastern Canada. "Nancy is a Northern California advertising pro with stints at Curtco Freedom Communications (Small Business Computing), Ziff-Davis (MacUser & PC Computing), Hachette Fillipachi, and even the early days of Imagine Media. With her background, she should have no trouble maintaining and capturing new market share for Maximum PC," comments Coelho.

Additionally, Chris Coelho commented, "I'm happy to announce the promotion of Bernie Lanigan to Eastern Advertising Director. Bernie was responsible for much of Maximum PC's growth in the eastern territories. Bernie's knowledge of the market has helped both the agency and client sides see `out of the box' in intensifying their advertising dollars with Maximum PC magazine."

Nominated by the Western Publications Association for three 1999 Maggie Awards, Maximum PC is the ultimate source for cutting-edge computing. It's about buying the right system, optimizing its performance, and getting real satisfaction doing so. Maximum PC produces three unique media -- a print magazine, a CD-ROM, and a web site -- offering readers a complete interactive PC experience.
