Oct. 7--STEVENSON, Wash.--For years, this small town 45 miles east of Vancouver has relied on the beauty of the Columbia River Gorge as nature's advertisement to come visit.

The passive approach is over. City and business leaders plan to launch an advertising campaign next year showcasing the city's new free Internet access. The wireless fidelity, or Wi-Fi, that now blankets the downtown core is expected to appeal to visitors who want to stay longer but need to stay
