AirTran Airways is revolutionizing air travel as showcased in its new ad campaign launching during the Fourth of July holiday. Running in flights throughout July, August and September, the new TV spots can
The "Revolution" campaign comprises two 30-second television ads, in addition to 60-second radio spots, print and outdoor executions that include headlines such as, "The Revolution Begins in Coach" and "Tear Down the Business Class Curtain," that will run in several of the airline's 31 markets. The campaign features the debut of the airline's new tagline, "Your airline has arrived."
The integrated marketing campaign, created by Cramer-Krasselt of Chicago, is being previewed by the Atlanta community at a rally at Lenox Mall in Buckhead today from Noon-1:00 p.m. In addition to unveiling the campaign, Atlantans are invited to participate in a rally for the "over-charged, under-appreciated" business traveler, and will be eligible to win Business Class upgrades and free air travel on AirTran Airways.
"We learned in focus groups that our core customers see AirTran Airways as we do - an advocate for quality, affordable air travel for both business and leisure passengers," said Tad Hutcheson, AirTran Airways' director of marketing. "This campaign communicates that by comparing our fight against the status quo to other famous examples of the underdog winning out."
Each TV spot is based on a famous historical event. "Standoff" depicts the business traveler standing up to the major airlines, a slightly veiled allusion to the real-life standoff between the student and the tank in Tianeman Square. The "Kiss" spot plays homage to the Alfred Eisenstaedt photograph of the VJ Day celebration in Times Square. This ad, depicting a business traveler kissing a loved one, communicates the message that on AirTran Airways, business travelers no longer have to be away from home on a Saturday night to get a low fare.
Systemwide, AirTran Airways operates 292 daily departures to 31 cities. Offering the convenience of easy, same concourse connections in Atlanta, AirTran Airways operates 133 daily departures from Hartsfield Atlanta International Airport, the world's busiest airport.
AirTran Airways provides everyday, affordable air travel throughout the eastern United States, and unlike other airlines, never requires a roundtrip purchase or Saturday night stay. AirTran Airways is the launch customer for the Boeing 717, today's newest, most innovative commercial aircraft. AirTran Airways is a subsidiary of AirTran Holdings, Inc. (Nasdaq: AAIR).
