Publishing Veteran Michael T. Carr Joins Greenspun Media Group as Vice President of...

LAS VEGAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 20, 2003

Daniel A. Greenspun, Greenspun Media Group (GMG) president, announced today the appointment of Michael T. Carr as vice president of business development for GMG.

our commitment to continue to grow the publishing segment of our business," said Greenspun. "He has been and will continue to be a major player in our industry."

Carr's main responsibilities will be to launch a new publication that will drive more tourism and increase visitor frequency to Las Vegas and explore new revenue opportunities through current GMG entities. Carr will report directly to Phillip C. Peckman, chief operating officer of the Greenspun Corporation.

"We expect Michael to bring forward new projects for the Media Group and our associated companies," added Greenspun.

Carr brings over 20 years of publishing experience to GMG, most recently as president of publishing for Playboy. Carr increased net per page advertising revenue over 10 percent per year for two consecutive years, during a time of industry decline. He also took Playboy subscriptions to their highest level in history.

Previously, Carr served as president and CEO of Wieder Publications, where he led the company to a 600 percent increase in nine years, expanding such publications as: Shape, Muscle & Fitness, Men's Fitness and Flex and launching Fit Pregnancy and Weider's interest activities. He acquired additional publishing experience as advertising director and senior vice president of advertising and sales at Playboy from 1984 to 1989 and as advertising sales director for Woman's Day.

Carr, born in Brooklyn, N.Y., has resided part-time in Las Vegas since 1999 with his wife.

The Greenspun Media Group is managed by The Greenspun Corporation with headquarters in Henderson, Nevada. Its primary businesses include the weekly newspaper and magazine publications, In Business Las Vegas, Las Vegas Life magazine, Las Vegas Weekly, The Ralston Report, ShowBiz Japan, ShowBiz Weekly and VegasGolfer Magazine. GMG also consists of the Las Vegas Sun daily newspaper, the website VEGAS.com and Las Vegas ONE, an all-news cable channel.
