Urban Solutions and KPOO introduce

"Business Basics"

Tony Wilkins, author of Telemarketing Success for Small and Mid Sized Firms and owner of TCS Inc, has teamed with Urban Solutions; a non-profit economic development corporation working with entrepreneurs and neighborhoods to attract, retain, and grow businesses and KPOO Radio 89.5 FM to introduce "Business Basics" beginning February 16th from 4-5pm. This program is formatted as a call-in show featuring a variety of local small business owners, lenders, small business consultants and experts offering advice and discussing topics of importance to today´s entrepreneurs. The show will also provide essential educational and networking resources to the small business community.



KPOO Radio, an African American owned station located in San Francisco; hopes to reach the estimated 25,000 business owners in the Western Addition and Bayview areas of the city with this new program. San Francisco based Urban Solutions feels this easily accessible format will help to encourage, motivate and develop more African American entrepreneurs which make up the lion´s share of the station´s listeners.



Among the topics the program will address include, tax strategies, starting a business, raising capital, and negotiating a lease. Additional topics feature tips on business promotion, and development and cold calling; as well as sales and marketing tips for generating new business, a specialty of the host. The program will also cover topics of interest to the LGBT community as well as women and minority owned businesses.



About the host

Tony Wilkins, a cold calling, sales and business development specialist for over 26 years, conducts monthly workshops at Fort Mason Center as well as in-house coaching sessions throughout the US. Mr. Wilkins is the owner of Telemarketing Consulting Services based in San Francisco, offering everything from consulting to cold calling services. He is the author of 2 books including Telemarketing Success for Small and Mid Size Firms and the Single Person´s Cookbook (available February 14th 2007).
