New screw-on closures permit excellent torques
New 20/410 standard continuous-thread closures for medical applications have unscrewed threads that allow for high application and excellent torques. The closure is also aesthetically pleasing because it does not bulge. Designed for SP-410 finishes, the 20-millimeter closure features a matted finish, ribbed walls and is available lined or with a linerless plug seal. Suitable applications include lotions and iodine solutions.

New hot-melt adhesive provides good peel resistance in paper label applications
Ideal for general-purpose paper label applications, Duro-Tak hot melt features excellent adhesion to low-energy surfaces, resistance to wing-up (flagging) and good low-temperature tack and flexibility. Duro-Tak is approved for indirect food contact and is suitable for application temperatures down to 35[degrees] F. Duro-Tak adhesive maintains bonds on curved surfaces. The hot melt exhibits high loop tack, excellent resistance to peel and shear and no edge-ooze or bleed through after one week at 120[degrees] F., reports the manufacturer.

New resins for rigid containers combine durability with design flexibility
New BLOX[TM] high-adhesion barrier resins exhibit excellent adhesion, gas barrier, clarity, mechanical strength and toughness and are ideal for use in multilayer rigid packaging of oxygen- and carbon dioxide-sensitive beverages such as beer, juice and carbonated soft drinks. Because they provide good adhesion to PET, delamination problems that can occur with other barrier resins are reduced or eliminated. According to the manufacturer, BLOX resins provide equal or better shelf life properties than other barrier resins at a comparable per-unit price.
