Coke Marketer Fruit Shifts To Senior Advisor Role

Atlanta—Chuck Fruit, Coca-Cola's CMO for slightly more than a year, will become a senior advisor to the company on media, sports, and entertainment marketing and sponsorships, beginning in 2006. After the move, the CMO title will not be used. Last March, Mary Minnick was named director of marketing,

innovation and strategic growth, and Fruit began reporting to her instead of Coke CEO Neville Isdell. Since then, Fruit has been working on Coke's "Manifesto for Growth," an internal assessment of marketing and strategic planning. Before becoming CMO, Fruit was in charge of Coke media.
