Former HDC Partner Starts Harris Ideas
ATLANTA—HDC's Stan Harris has left the agency he helped found 22 years ago. Harris, who was the Fort Lauderdale, Fla., shop's creative partner, has started a new firm, Harris Ideas. "We'll be in the business of solving [advertising]
problems," said Harris. "Our job will be to look at things differently than our clients and differently than traditional agencies." Harris Ideas is located in Plantation, Fla.
Eisner Wins Krytox Assignment From DuPont
ATLANTA—Eisner Communications has won the advertising account for DuPont's Krytox following a review against undisclosed contenders. Sources estimated annual billings at $3 million. The Baltimore agency will develop trade ads for the Wilmington, Del.-based company's product, a lubricant that is used in the automotive, aviation and aerospace industries.
BBDO Is Best in Ad Category at ShowSouth
ATLANTA—This year's ShowSouth had the most entries since 1999. According to the Chris Bradley, the Atlanta Creative Club, which sponsors the annual event, received 1,500 entries. Winners included Omnicom Group's BBDO in Atlanta, which won best of show in advertising for its Panama Tourism campaign. Atlanta's Iconologic earned best of show in design on behalf of Kilpatrick Stockton. The top interactive prize went to Lorem Ipsum of Birmingham, Ala. The Portfolio Center in Atlanta won in the same category for design and advertising. The event was co-produced by Atlanta's Kilgannon McReynolds and Crawford Communications.
McKinney + Silver Establishes PR Practice
ATLANTA—McKinney + Silver has recruited Michael Draznin to head up its its newly established publicrelations operation, McKinney Communications Group. Draznin will also serve as managing director ofthe Raleigh, N.C., shop's McKinney-brand Marketing division. His agency experience includes stints at D'Arcy Masius Benton & Bowles and Lowe Lintas & Partners, both in New York.
