Dick Sittig--the man known to millions as the voice of Jack from Jack in the Box commercials--knows how to wow an audience.
The founder of the Kowloon Wholesale Seafood Co., Santa Monica, Calif., stole the show during the Feb. 24 Los Angeles Advertising Agencies Association Leader of the Year awards dinner and gala.
The event at the Regent Beverly Wilshire was organized to recognize the West coast's top three agency leaders. Sittig, who was named Creative Leader of the Year, was joined by DDB Los Angeles president Dave Park and Joe Phelps, president/ CEO of The Phelps Group.
Park and Phelps were named Leader of the Year and Entrepreneurial Leader of the Year, respectively.
All three honorees charmed the audience: Phelps played the drums in his own Phelps Group Band, while Park shared video footage.
But by most accounts, Sittig was the show- stopper with a tongue-in-cheek skit in which he pretended to be the "Leader of the Millennium."
The routine featured a choir of gospel singers, a coffin and actors portraying his family.
Said Sittig of his over-the-top performance, "We all have our 15 minutes."
