Reliance Steel & Aluminum Co. (NYSE:RS) announced today that its subsidiary, AMI Metals, Inc., headquartered in Brentwood, Tennessee, has been awarded two contracts. AMI Metals was awarded an aluminum plate contract
Additionally, AMI Metals was also awarded a contract with GKN Aerospace Limited. The $1.2 million contract runs through December 31, 2005, with the possibility of additional option years. The contract requirements include value-added, just-in-time, cut-to-size processing of aluminum sheet for use at the GKN facility in the United Kingdom focusing on aerospace applications.
David H. Hannah, Reliance's Chief Executive Officer, said, "We are pleased that AMI Metals has been chosen to provide aluminum plate for Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Company and aluminum sheet for GKN Aerospace Limited.
