Intermet explosion; three dead, four remain hospitalized

Intermet Corp. (Nasdaq: INMT) said an explosion at its auto parts plant in Radford, Va., killed three people and injured several others. Four remained hospitalized as of Friday.

Troy-based Intermet, the world's largest independent cast-iron auto parts producer, said it doesn't know the cause of the explosion at its New River Castings plant, which occurred March 5 at 9:30 p.m.
