Two new lead-free aluminum alloys have been developed for automotive engine bearing applications, according to "A New Family of Lead-Free Aluminum-Base Engine Bearing Alloys," (SAE paper 2005-01-1866), by Jeffrey C. Hunter and Warren J. Whiney Jr., Federal Mogul Corp., (www.federal-mogul.com), Southfield, Mich.
