US Patent 7 205 041 discloses methods of printing nonwoven substrates with inks that subsequently are difficult to rub off.

Patent Assignee The Procter & Gamble Co of Cincinnati, Ohio, USA, also describes a disposable absorbent article made with the ink-printed substrate.

The substrate web is printed with an ink composition and then coated. Either or both of the ink or coating composition should then form a cross-linked structure within its own film and between the ink and coating to enhance the rub-off resistance, according to the Patent.
