Printing symposium set

New York— The American Assn. of Textile Chemists and Colorists is co-sponsoring "Printing 2005: A Digital Reality," a digital printing symposium set for May 24–26 at the New School University here.

The program was developed for brand owners, designers, digital printers,

manufacturers, product developers and retailers.

Brooks Tippett of Pantone Inc. is chairman of the event, which is designed to provide an introduction to product development for conventional textile printing methods and will highlight technologies and applications for the digital printing process.

Presenters will share their experiences with digital sampling and short-run printing, and attendees will hear success stories from both digital print users and service providers.

Among topics and presenters are:

  • Overview of Traditional Printing, by Richard Malachowski, Cranston Print Works.

  • How to Cure the Blues (and Reds, Yellows, Greens...), Andy Hatkoff, Pantone.

  • Engineered Designs for Home Decorating, Jeanelle and Larry Dech, Adaptive Textiles.
