New electric arc furnaces sparking interest: SeverCorr L.L.C. leads the list of EAF melting...

Only a year-and-a-half since breaking ground at its 1,400-acre site in Mississippi, the new steel company SeverCorr already has announced it will expand the capacity of its greenfield plant.

The venture was formed in 2003 to build and operate a state-of-the-art steel mill, to supply steel to growing manufacturing segment in the southern United States. Ground was broken in October of 2005 near Columbus, MS.
