PROJECT OVERVIEW:

An international joint venture recently started building the Ras Laffan crude oil refinery in Qatar. The new facility to run on condensates, of undisclosed cost, will have an installed production capacity of 140,000,000 barrels per day (b/d). Project completion is scheduled for some time in 2008. The partners in the planned undertaking and their respective shareholdings include the local QATAR PETROLEUM CORP. (QPC - 80%), US-based EXXONMOBIL and TOTAL SA of France that will each hold a 10% stake.
