SITA takes majority stake in SCORI

SITA, the French waste management Group and Rhone-Poulenc SA, the French state-owned chemicals multinational, have acquired a majority stake (66%) in SCORI, the French industrial waste management company. SCORI, which was established in 1979 by Renault SA, the French car manufacturer, has been controlled since 1985 by the French cement manufacturers, Ciments Lafarge, Ciments Francais and Ciments Vicat. The alliance between SITA, the cement manufacturers and Rhone-Poulenc "is the second step in the construction of a new French special waste incineration business", according to Rhone-
