Concrete's flowering charisma

Visitors to the Chelsea Flower Show on 22-25 May 2001 will see concrete in a completely new light when they visit the Blue Circle Garden created using pigmented concrete. The project, taking place at Chelsea for the first time, is being sponsored by Blue Circle Industries and will feature the work

of concrete sculptor Carole Vincent. As readers will be aware, Carole has been responsible for many largescale environmental commissions in concrete which feature highly polished surfaces revealing texture, form and colour. Her own garden in Cornwall is a unique example of how colour concrete can be used to great effect. The Blue Circle Garden aims to replicate this in an imaginatively modern setting. Carole is supported by many in the concrete industry including The Concrete Society recently elected her a Fellow of the Society in recognition of her work in using concrete in this creative way.
