It was like a match and a spark. In July 2003 Bob Harris, president of the Decorative Concrete

Institute, invited Jim Peterson, president of The Concrete Network, to Georgia to visit with Lee Ann Stape and him about how they might collaborate together. Harris and Peterson were longtime acquaintances from a variety of concrete industry events.

It had been a dream of Harris' for many years to put onto paper the knowledge he had received from his extensive decorative concrete field experience and training so that it could be useful to contractors.

Peterson saw potential in the booming demand for decorative concrete from his website activity, which showed 400,000 to 500,000 visitors per month who were researching information on decorative concrete and searching for contractors to do the work.
