Dr. James W. Bracke Joins EPIEN Medical As COO.

WHITE BEAR LAKE, Minn. -- EPIEN Medical, Inc., ("EPIEN") announced today that James W. Bracke, PhD., has joined EPIEN as the Company's Chief Operating Officer effective April 11, 2005. Dr. Bracke was previously a founding scientist, President and CEO, and Director of Lifecore Biomedical,

Inc., ("Lifecore"). Lifecore is a publicly traded biomedical device manufacturer based in Chaska, MN. Dr. Bracke grew Lifecore from its inception to 2004 revenue approaching $50 million. During Dr. Bracke's tenure as CEO, Lifecore grew to an international business with 190 employees. Its business areas include a dental implant product line with direct distribution in Germany, Italy, and Sweden as well as 25 additional distributors in 35 countries. He brings 26 years of medical device industry experience to EPIEN. Dr. Bracke's primary responsibility at EPIEN will include growing the dental products business.

Dr. Bracke indicated that "It is a privilege to become part of the growing environment at EPIEN.
