INTRODUCTION

Pakistan has already achieved self-sufficiency in nitrogenous fertilizer urea that uses natural gas as feed stock and altogether meeting 80 per cent of its total requirements of all fertilizers the soil needs indigenously. However, the country was still importing phosphatic fertilizer derived from the phosphatic rock. It is heartening to note that FFC Jordan Fertilizer Co. Ltd. is almost ready and likely to go into production this year. This unit has production capacity of 445,500 tonnes of DAP fertilizers.
