Georges expands Missouri poultry plant.

Cassville, Missouri -- Georges Poultry recently awarded a contract to Republic Refrigeration of Atlanta, Georgia for the refrigeration portion of the expansion of their Poultry processing facility in Cassville. Republic will upgrade the existing refrigeration system to accommodate the added refrigeration load. The expansion includes an energy management control system from Hench Control of San Jose, California. Georges Poultry has facilities in Arkansas and Missouri that process chickens and turkeys for domestic and international customers.

Ron Hooley, the construction project manager for Georges in Cassville was in charge of similar expansions involving Hench energy management systems at expansion of plants in Springdale, Arkansas. The refrigeration system will be under the control of Charles Klepper, once it is complete. Concern for the rising cost of electrical power was one of the driving forces that led to Georges selecting Hench Control for their refrigeration system. The Hench system will control the three-stage engine room of 12 large compressors in such a way to significantly reduce their power costs. For example, the Hench system will automatically select the optimum combination of compressors to be used throughout the day and night as conditions change. It will also force the operating compressors to run close to the top of their capacity, where they are more efficient.

The modular control system will use AlarmPager[TM] to call out to cell phones and pagers whenever a critical pressure or temperature is exceeded, and will call until it gets a response from one of the people being paged. The system will also have ColorMaster[TM] color graphics, which makes it easy for the operators to bring up data from today, yesterday, or a year ago.
