Jul. 21--In the past 20 years, Eugene has become home to knife makers of national caliber. They sell their work to collectors in the United States and overseas for hundreds and even thousands of dollars a pop.
Members of this loosely knit group each settled here for their own reasons, trickling in from states such as Illinois and California.
