Japanese EDM producer Sodick Co. intends to offer shares in a subsidiary named Sodick China Holdings (Hong Kong) on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange to raise capital to further upgrade production facilities in China. According to the Japanese press service Nikkei, Sodick controls half the EDM market in "greater China," including Taiwan. Since starting a software subsidiary with a Shanghai university in 1991, Sodick has developed nine joint ventures in the market.
